HOLY DOOR IN GUIMARAS OPENED, COMPLETES 7 JUBILEE CHURCHES

Rev. Fr. Norberto Tacadao led the Opening of the Holy Door at Saint Isidore the Farmer Parish, Navalas, Buenavista, Guimaras, last April 16, 2021.

NAVALAS, GUIMARAS – The 7th and Last Jubilee Church in the Archdiocese of Jaro opened its Holy Doors to the faithful in the island province of Guimaras last April 16, 2021. Iconic as it is, the Porta Sancta was opened at what is known to be the miniature of the Jaro Cathedral façade, the Parish of Saint Isidore the Farmer in Navalas, Buenavista, Guimaras.

The rite of opening the Holy Doors and the Eucharistic celebration was presided by Rev. Fr. Norberto Tacadao, parish priest of the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish, Buenavista, Guimaras, and Vicar Forane of the Vicariate of Saint Bartholomew, and was concelebrated by the priests within their vicariate. It was also attended by the parishioners coming from some other parts of Guimaras, as this is the only Holy Door designated to the vicariate.

The opening of a holy door in a Jubilee Church is one of the special graces, not only to the diocese where it was named, but to the entire Catholic community around it. The grace of entering a Holy Door while desiring to gain a plenary indulgence is a gift that we are all called to share.
